So you bought a house and are happily moved in, only to see that photos of your home are everywhere.
Now perhaps you are not a possible target for the “Bling Ring” but everyone wants privacy.
Other reasons people do this is they don’t want people to know what it looked like before you did your magical improvements. Either way you have a right to get your photos down in most parts of the country.
Here are some steps to get the photos of the home you recently purchased taken off line.
When you write an offer, request that all photos are removed when the property is sold to you.
Now let’s just say that you bought the home and didn’t think about this until later.
MLS:
· Contact your buyer’s agent and ask them to email the prior listing agent to contact the MLS to remove the photos (Some MLSs will do this and some won’t)
REDFIN:
· Claim your property on Redfin and remove your photos on Redfin.
· Click on 'Edit Photos'
· Then check the box 'Hide listing photos. '
· A popup window will ask you if you are sure:
· After selecting, 'Yes Hide Photos' the photos will be removed!
ZILLOW:
· To hide or remove photos on your home's property page, you must claim ownership of your home's property page and navigate to the Edit Facts screen.
· Sign in to your Zillow profile. Click on the profile icon, then select Your Home from the menu option.
· Click on the tile for your home to load the property page.
· If you have not already claimed your home on Zillow, please follow these steps.
· Once you have claimed your home, click on the Edit Facts icon from the Owner View of the property page.
· To remove a photo, click on an individual photo and click Remove Photo.
· To rearrange photos, click on the individual photo and hold the left mouse button down.
· Drag any photo to the desired place in the photo grouping order.
· To remove all photos, click Delete all photos. Alternatively, you can hide the photos from public view by clicking the check box to Hide photos displayed on your home’s Zillow page.
· Save your changes by clicking the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
· For some off-market homes, including yours, the option to edit facts may be unavailable. For these homes, the home data is sourced from the last for sale listing for the home
· If you are unable to hide or remove your photos, please submit a ticket for our Customer Support team here and a team member will be happy to assist you.
· For some Recently Sold homes, you will see the option to hide all but the primary photo on the Edit Facts screen
· To find out how previous photos may have been added to your home's property page, see the help section
HOMES.COM:
· Homes.com gets their data from the MLS. If, after your photos are removed from the MLS, they are still on Homes.com, call Homes.com and they will refresh the data. Their number is 800-431-5909
REALTOR.COM:
· They syndicate the photos from The MLS, so if you can get the MLS to remove your photos, they should come down from Realtor.com. You can also try this. Go to realtor.com/myhome, type in your address and click the magnifying glass to start claiming your home.
· Follow the steps to prove your ownership, and you’re all set.
· Now do the following:
· Log into your profile at realtor.com.
· Go to your owner dashboard under the My Home tab.
· Click the Remove Photos button.
· Submit a ticket at support.realtor.com/s/contactsupport if you need assistance.
